Last December, Wizzie Analytics completed the rollout of the “Panot del s. XXI” project for Barcelona City Council. This system is based on an advanced pedestrian flow counting and analysis system to monitor the second trial of “Panot del s. XXI” test in one of the busiest areas of Barcelona: Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes and Rambla Catalunya.
What exactly have we implemented?
Street infrastructure: supply and installation of a MUPI (Urban Furniture for Information Display) together with the necessary communications system.
Real-time observability platform (Wizzie): analytics to understand audience behavior in Digital Out of Home (DOOH) environments.
Passive detection technology via Wi-Fi + advanced visualization: turning data into decisions.
The result?
Interactive dashboards and customized KPIs that enable the measurement and analysis of actual behavior in urban spaces, with actionable, real-time information.
This pilot project is promoted by Ajuntament de Barcelona y Fundació BIT Habita, which work to accelerate urban innovation and respond to social, economic, technological, and environmental challenges, with a clear objective: a healthier, more sustainable, competitive, and equitable Barcelona, while improving the quality of life of its residents.
If you are interested in how real-time analytics can help design smarter cities (and optimize DOOH projects with real data), we at Wizzie Analytics would be delighted to share what we have learned from the rollout.
